The Walpole Scout House was donated to Walpole Girl Scouts by the Bird Foundation over 80 years ago and is an integral part of Walpole Scouting. It is home to many different Walpole Girl Scout activities to empower our girls by providing the perfect place to hold troop meetings and overnights as well as fun and educational events such as Founders Day, camp fires in the cove, badge workshops and town-wide Girl Scout ceremonies.
Monthly leaders meetings and training sessions are also held at the Scout House – it truly is a “home” to Walpole Girl Scouts. The Walpole Scout House is the only Scout House remaining in this area. Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts has closed many of the Scout Houses they owned or left the individual towns to support their own properties.
Our Scout House is managed entirely by dedicated volunteers – Walpole moms, dads and other adults who believe in Walpole Girl Scouts and its importance in enriching the lives of its young girls. This means that both financial support and operational support must come from Walpole and the surrounding communities. Everyone who believes in the mission of Girl Scouts is welcome to get involved!
